Bison
It began with a skeletal structure of steel rods. Then the entire body was covered with six to eight layers of weld which was necessary to complete the desired finish.
450 pounds of MIG .035 welding wire was used. The inspiration for creating this one of a kind all welded steel sculpture was to acknowledge the importance and significance this magnificent animal played inthe lives of all the early peoples of North America. It took over 500 hours to complete. Two coats of oil based primer to seal. Three coats of colored paint to achieve a natural looking bison.
The City of Moose Jaw has acquired the sculpture and installed it at Tourism Moose Jaw.
